Some quick updates for the week. I have been so lazy. Haha!

Went for my LASIK Follow-Up check up. It has been 6 months and the SNEC staff did a thorough check once more before I met up with Doctor Wee. Although there has been some cases of infection reported recently, causing SNEC to stop LASIK operations on patients temporarily, there were still patients at SINGALASIK for post-LASIK consultations. With the hype ongoing about SNEC having to stop LASIK due to infected cases, I am not affected. My eyes are perfect.

Anyway, when I got to see Doctor Wee eventually, he was surprised by how my eyes were progressing. Because my astimagtism was quite high, he had expected it to come back again and is even prepared for me to do an enhancement. However, my vision is still perfect after 6 months. He congratulated me for my speedy recovery. Other than advising me that I can continue to use tear/eye drop when my eyes feel dry, he said I can email him anytime if my eyes feel uncomfortable. He also mentioned that he does not need to trouble me to see him again. He gave me an open date for any follow-up appointment! I was so happy. I am officially discharged! Yipeeee! I thanked him profusely before leaving SNEC light-headedly. :)

I met up with Alex a.k.a. darkie after a long day work. Had dinner at Heeren's Village (previously Marchè). It was Alex's treat to me for my birthday. Nice dude there. Have not met him for nearly 3 years. Got to know him about 4 years ago online together with a few others over a coffee session. We still keep in touch on MSN but been so busy to meet up. Oh well, at least manage to catch up finally!

We caught romantic comedy Music & Lyrics after dinner. Friends mentioned that this movie was not fantastic but I kinda like it. Or perhaps I am just a sucker for such movies. Haha! And I totally disagree with some friends who insisted that Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore do not make a good on-screen couple. I like them together.

All in all, was a great evening, with Alex's company. Thanks! :)

Work was crazy and trying so hard to cover a colleague's shortfall in production. I was running around the whole day and only back in office about 3pm. Cleared work till 9.30pm and had late dinner at 10pm. Err, a really FULL dinner. Was feeling so bloated that I could not sleep till 3am. ARGH! And I have been lazy. Wanna do crunches... but... oh well, you know the usual excuse! I WILL TRY to exercise ya. DEFINITELY WILL TRY TO! I don't like being fat.


Today, 29 March 2007
It was raining cats and dogs today and I was like some lunatic scrambling from one place to another with a few plastic bags, holding an umbrella! It is production closing today and I need to help cover the shortfall. Bought some cakes from Four Leaves for the C&C administrators. They have been wonderful in helping me rush for the production numbers. Am so grateful to them. Rapport is so important in my line and I am so glad that I have always helped them whenever possible, sometimes even crossing my boundaries. Lovely ladies there.

Anyway, after being caught/drenched in the rain the whole day, rushed back in time to report the numbers. We hit it! PHEW! I was so relieved. Did not stay too long in office and went to meet Zhihao (a friend who joined me for Latin Samba dance class) for dinner about 7pm before going for Latin Samba. I missed last 2 Latin Samba classes as I was coughing badly. Was so afraid that I could not catch up but surprisingly, managed to get the hang of it and danced! It was a joy to be dancing again after 2 weeks.

I love Latin Samba. It is tougher than Latin Cha Cha but I love it anyway. Will probably continue Latin Samba after this beginner class. Zhihao will be having reservist in May so he is not sure yet. Oh well, perhaps I will just continue without him. Haha!

Hmm, was supposed to have department dinner tomorrow but now that it was postponed to next week, am contemplating if I should go for Latin Cha Cha tomorrow. It is the last lesson and I missed like 4 consecutive lessons already. Twice because of functions and twice because I was sick. I may just take Latin Cha Cha lessons all over again just so that I am good with my basic. But Fridays are usually very tight. Oh no, I am really in a dilemma! :(

Got myself a grab-and-go kinda necklace. As usual, lovely. Yes, I know I have good taste! And err, spendthrift too! *bleah*

Met up with old friends from #promises on my birthday. Went to Earle Swensen's for dinner to celebrate Ashley's and my birthday. Ashley's birthday is on 27th.

Awww..... I am officially 26 (birthday is on 24th March but belated entry cos was out last night with friends) and err, past the mid-20s age band! ARGH! How I wish I can be forever 21! Haha! Oh well, this year, when all my friends asked me what I want for my birthday, I told them matter-of-factly, CASH. Yups, was trying to pool money to get a new digital camera.

And so, with contributions from all my friends and with a little top-up from Mummy, here's presenting my 26th birthday present...

On Medical Leave today and tomorrow. Am still coughing badly. It is so bad that I can't get to sleep at night. I had mentioned to Charmaine that I would go back office tomorrow but she is such a sweetie, telling me to rest while she covers my duties.

Of course, she reminded me that both of us have to be healthy on our birthdays! Mine is this Saturday and hers is this Sunday. We are likely to be partying and some of my friends joining too. I really do hope I can recover by then, else I won't be able to enjoy.

I know I gonna miss Charmaine. She tendered last Friday and although everyone thinks that we are all too frustrated and overwhelmed with stress, the truth is that she is just not interested in this industry. Hence, this is a good time for her to explore and do something she prefers, with better remuneration of course. Serving the 2 months notice, her last day should be in mid May and I sure hope that we would have found someone for her by then so that she can do a proper handover.

I reckon the ambience in office is quite tense and everyone must be wondering if I will be the next to leave (since I am so close to Charmaine). Honestly, I don't have an issue with my job scope or the industry I am in. However, the stress is certainly mounting and not within my control. I am no quitter and as far as I am concerned, if we are working together to find a solution, I have no thoughts of resigning. But I think it will be quite chaotic if both Charmaine and me tendered together.

Anyway, on a happier note, was glad that I took half day leave yesterday to go for my facial, manicure & pedicure. I was coughing so badly at facial that my beautician commented that my lungs gonna pop out. Anyway, was glad I went as my face felt much cleaner after that and boy, was I happy I did manicure & pedicure too. Did simple nail art on my thumb nails. Cute!

Am still sick. My cough continues and is so bad that when I took a cab to Suntec to meet ex-colleagues for dinner, the cab driver offered me some Hacks sweets to soothe my throat. I politely declined and told him that I had taken my medication, including cough syrup of course.

I had gone down to Suntec to have dinner with my ex-colleagues from Safe. Sally made the effort to plan this so even though I was unwell, I feel that I should go. Dinner was at Siam Kitchen but I did not eat much as most of the food was spicy and this would worsen my throat condition.

Nonetheless, had fun catching up with all of them and Sally's daughter baked me a Peanut Butter Cake! Very sweet of her eh? :)

Down with flu and cough, I was cooped up at home the last 2 days. Although I am not well, I still went ahead to meet the girls today. Afterall, it was planned and it is not easy getting all 4 of us together.

Went to see doctor on Thursday and whole body was aching on Friday. Was practically lying on my bed the whole day. Not much appetite. I ate only one meal each for both today and yesterday. ARGH! I feel so weak. :(

Missed both Latin Samba and Latin Cha Cha classes. Thinking now if I should go for Tango tomorrow. Still feeling very lethargic and tired though I slept the whole day. Actually arranged to meet Phyllis, Florence and Shirley to catch up after Tango tomorrow. Maybe I should just skipped Tango and go for the gathering.

My head is still spinning as I type. Sighz. I do hope I get well soon! :(

"Guys who care will call."

Those words keep ringing in my ears. Subconsciously in my heart, I do know that very well. But I have been finding excuses for him. Telling myself he is busy. Telling myself he is tired.

Everytime he replied to my sms, I would be so happy and thought that amidst his busy schedule, he still called and that was so sweet of him. I was completely blinded that I am always the one who sms/call him first. His reply is always how busy he is.

I told him last night when he called (after I sms-ed him to remind him that he had promised to call) that if I do not sms/call him, he would also not initiate. As usual, his reply was how busy he was.

As usual, I did not hear from him whole of today too and earlier, I finally sms-ed him the same words as last night. "If I do not sms/call you, you will never bother to contact me." With that, I deleted his contact off my mobile phone. Although I would very much want him to contact me, perhaps it would be better if he never sms/call again.

No, I am not in love with him. But yes, I like him. I don't usually get attracted to a guy easily. No, he is not rich or good-looking. But I just feel very comfortable with him. Perhaps I should not trust this feeling too much. He could have been putting up a pretense. Nonetheless, I do know now, that if men care, they will call. As such I conclude that he doesn't really care. Or should I say he doesn't care about me enough to call. Now, that hurts. Although he was the one who expressed interest from the beginning, perhaps it was just a passing emotion for him. Maybe lust. I just don't wish to find excuses for him no more.

Life goes on and although he is still fresh in my mind/heart for now, I did not memorise his number, so if he doesn't contact me, I know I will be able to erase him off my life completely in 2 weeks time. Pray hard that Mr Busy here will not bother to sms/call for the next 2 weeks least it stirs my feelings again.

I have been re-iterating that I don't wanna date workaholic men who place career/job over me. In fact, way above me. Yet I still keep meeting such men. ARGH! Well, I just want to close this chapter.

Workaholics, kindly stay away from me. All I want is sincerity and genuinity. PLEASE!

It's my birthday next Saturday and Charmaine's birthday next Sunday. Time flies and I hate growing a year older. How I wish I can be forever young!

This year is gonna be an interesting birthday for us. We may celebrate together, probably count down at some club. and separately, I will be meeting friends for dinners. As mentioned to all my friends, I want a digital camera for birthday pressie. Nothing else. And so, I told them straight to give me red packet with cash so I can pool together all the money to get what I want. :)

I do want to have lotsa fun this birthday but I really don't know how. Haha. But err, someone promised to make me Japanese food before my birthday and I am looking forward to it!

Been very busy last few days.

Tried Latin Samba for the first time on Thursday and boy, was it tough. Really need to practise. Came home for some retail therapy on Victorias Secret and fell in love with a sexy piece!

Hosted 3 Chinese New Year tables on Friday then headed for St James Power House with Charmaine after the dinner ended. There wasa long queue and it was half an hour before we finally got into Power House. I was digging for Cuban music at Movida but thought Power House queue seemed shorter. Anyway, we finally got in after 30 minutes and for the first time in ages, I actually danced non-stop (almost) for 2.5 hours! Good workout I must say. My mini dress was soaked in perspiration when I left Power House.

However, it didn't help that I was supposed to chair a briefing session on Saturday at 9.30am. So, I slept at 5.30am after partying and woke up at 7.30am to prepare to head out for briefing. I was freaking tired and I am so sure I looked like a panda. Well, thank god the briefing was short and I met Mummy for breakfast after that. Shopped a little and bought another 2 dresses! Yes, I know I am crazy, over dresses! :(

After my mini shopping stint, I rushed home to get ready for Meiqing's ROM solemisation ceremony at Merchant Court Hotel. She was so pretty that day. I took some pictures but because my card reader spoilt, I could not upload pictures to my PC. Got to wait.... ARGH!

After the ROM cum High Tea, headed for Annie's little princess Ashley's One Year Old birthday. Very cute baby! Am glad to be able to catch up with Annie a little too. Been so long since I met her. And I was dead tired by the time I got home at 8pm!

Sunday was fruitful meeting Val for lunch before heading for Tango class. Francis refreshed a bit of Latin Cha Cha with me after Tango. Afterall, I missed 2 Latin Cha Cha lessons cos of two Fridays' Chinese New Year functions. So sweet of him huh? :)

Anyway, Kenneth picked me up after Tango to go for ex-colleague's Edward's Chinese New Year gathering at Seng Kang. It was pouring and we were stuck there till evening before we decided to catch DreamGirls at Cineleisure. The movie is great, especially with Oscar's Award 2007 winner Jennifer Hudson who starred as Effie White. I love musicals and DreamGirls is certainly a movie worth catching. It's been a long time since I rave about any movie and since I am doing so now, you can be assured it's a not-to-be-missed flick!

Well, that sums up what I have done last few days and it's work as per normal today. Had a throbbing headache today and went to see a doctor. Will be on Medical Leave tomorrow but I brought my laptop home so reckon I I may work from home tomorrow. Will see how.

Hope I feel better soon and since I bought so many dresses, hope I have occasions to wear them... like real soon!
