He reached Singapore late last night. Sms-ed me but I was asleep. He was in Korea all along and going back again on Sunday. He called during lunch time today and we spoke a bit.

He was busy as usual.

He sounded uncertain as usual.

He offered no explanation as usual.

And he asked to meet me for a while, probably late at night after his endless meetings. Before he leaves for Korea again. I did not answer him.

Thought I will blog a bit before going back to work on my presentation slides. It's Saturday and I really want to be out shopping or hanging out with friends instead of rushing some presentation at home. ARGH!

I was on Medical Leave yesterday. Had food poisoning, or so the doctor said, though I very much suspected that my nausea was due to the huge intake of alcohol I had on Thursday night. Nonetheless, I still went for C&C 7th Month dinner last night. With my fever still running. Surprisingly, the food last night was quite good and as usual, all was teasing me for coming to the dinner though I was on Medical Leave. Hmm, I supposed that since it is my account, I better go and support. In any case, I am glad that I went as I managed to say hi and talk to some of the sales managers.

Tonight's 7th Month dinner is at Subaru and we are probably heading for MOS after that. I may not stay long as I have to be up early tomorrow. Will see how things go. Still feeling moody and have to go back and work on my presentation slides. Not exactly very enticing.

I finally went for my consultation for Laser Vision Correct this afternoon! My appointment was at 130pm and I arrived 10 minutes early at the Refractive Surgery Centre. Registered and waited for my turn to start all the tests.

First was the Visual Acuity Test and I was made to see some red spot in a machine. A puff of air blew right into my eyes and it irritated me for a while. After that I had to read some Snellen Charts which had alphabets or numbers of decreasing size. I had to read them from a distance of 6 metres.

Next was the Pre-Assessment consultation where a staff was briefing me though what LASIK was about, gave me some guide book, warned me about the risks and then got me to sign some consent form to perform the surgery.

What followed was the Eye Assessment where the nurse had to check how thick my cornea was. This time round, the machine that I looked into showed some red spot and then Mount Fuji. Quite interesting.

Soon after, I had to put some eye drops to dilate my pupils before I went for the Visual Acuity Test again. The nurse applied the drops on me thrice, over an interval of 10 minutes each time. This pupil dilation caused me to have blurred vision and I had to close my eyes.

Finally I was waiting to see Doctor Wee after 3 hours of tests. This Post-Assessment Consultation took barely 5 minutes whereby Doctor Wee checked my eyes again and then informing me about my myopia and astigmatism. It was also unfortunate that my cornea was too thin, hence he did not want to recommend the traditional Laser In-situ Keratomileusis (LASIK). Instead he suggested LADARVision® 4000 Excimer Laser System which unlike conventional LASIK, allows for minimal tissue removal. This is usually important for someone with high myopes. In my case, it is due to thin corneas. Nevertheless, Doctor Wee assured me that from a medical perspective, I can go ahead for the surgery with a high chance of perfect eyesight. He also mentioned for me to operate on my left eye first as the myopia and astigmatism was more serious there.

After consulting Doctor Wee, I proceeded to the cashier to pay for the overall pre-operative consultation charges. I then decided to fix up an appointment for the surgery. As the surgery had to be done on 2 separate days, 1 eye per day, I wanted to fix on 4th and 5th September, which is a Monday and Tuesday. However, Doctor Wee is fully booked on 4th and I was scheduled for 5th and 7th September. This means that I will be on medical leave from 5th to 8th September. I agreed.

As I stepped out of the centre, my vision was still blurred and I was sitting outside while waiting for the vehicle to come. It was really glaring and I was tempted to just board a cab and head home instead of waiting. But because my vision was slightly blurred, I thought that it would be better to have someone escorting me home. I finally left SNEC at 4.30pm.

My eyes were really tired after I got home and I napped for about 2 hours before waking up for my dinner. My vision cleared then. Tomorrow will be work as usual and meanwhile, will wait in anticipation for the coming surgery!

It has been two weeks since I got back from Bangkok and here I am yearning for another trip to Thailand again. Am contemplating going to Hat Yai in early November and then proceed in a ferry to Koh Samui for the much hyped about Full Moon Party. It is indeed tempting as it has been quite a while since I last attended a beach party. And no, I am not referring to Zoukout. This is certainly more fun than Zoukout.

In fact, Charmaine did mention going to Koh Samui next year together and we can go for the Full Moon Party. She is probably the only one who will not mind partying with me be it travelling overseas or locally. Next year seems so long away but she may not want to travel in November since she will be going Japan in December. Sighz! I can't join her in Japan as I will be having LASIK soon and am not sure how much I gonna spend. *SULKS*

Well, at least I will be having some time off to relax end of this month in Cameron Highland and Genting. I still can't feel the excitement as yet. Perhaps I will when I reach Cameron Highland while breathing in the fresh cool air. Afterall, I only felt more at ease when I boarded the plane during my last trip to Bangkok. Meanwhile, it will just be work and more work till month end. Blah! Hmm, I do hope that I will stop thinking of going for holidays after I get back from this month end trip. At least till next year when I would have perfect eyesight should the surgery go through and be a success.

Only 3 more things on my Wish List. LASIK by 2006. Lose 5kg. Gucci Shopper Tote. And I am really working to accomplish all 3 wishes.

LASIK by 2006:
Had actually fixed a pre-consultation appointment at SNEC in the morning on 7th September which is a school holiday so that Phyllis and I can go together. If all else goes well, we will probably go for LASIK together in December. Since Phyllis is teaching, she can only do it during the school holidays. However, I find December too long away. I may just go ahead first for consultation next week then for LASIK in October. Will call SNEC again and see how it goes.

Lose 5kg:
This is going to be one big challenge. Am starting to do some crunches with effect from today though I am still having diarrhoea. Am determined to shed at least 3kg first, if not 5kg. Honestly, I am really damn chubby now. Swimming is out as it is the 7th month now and I am not keen to go to the gym at Gallery Hotel. Well, I guess it just means I have to do my crunches everyday and probably some skipping too if possible.
