Sunday, March 07, 2010 I watched this movie called Hearty Paws about three years ago. I still remember how hard I cried throughout the movie. And not sure why, but since a few months ago, I have been thinking of watching this movie again.

Labels: Movie Saturday, January 17, 2009 Watched Ong Bak 2 today. Waste of time.
Pain is subsiding. Had proper meals today and only took painkillers once. YEAH! Friday, December 12, 2008 ![]() We wanted to watch BOLT, a disney movie and Dear was mentioning that this movie shows in digital 3D too. So, we embark on our first digital 3D movie experience in Singapore. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Labels: Movie Sunday, August 03, 2008 As usual, Neo proves himself with this hilarious, yet thought-evoking film; that is, if you know Hokkien. Think Mummy and Grandma really enjoy the movie. As a typical Singaporean, I can fully share the sentiments of the characters in this film. What with the typical Singaporean's trait of complaining about the government, to the high medical costs etc. All in all, this is an entertaining show and I would encourage fellow Singaporeans to go catch it. MUST SUPPORT LOCAL PRODUCTION MAH! Tuesday, July 29, 2008 BATMAN ROCKS! This show is AWESOME! Batman and James Gordon join forces with Gotham's new District Attorney, Harvey Dent, to take on a psychotic bank robber known as The Joker, whilst other forces plot against them, and Joker's crimes grow more and more deadly.
Labels: Movie Tuesday, December 04, 2007 Did my nails at Flaunt on Saturday and went to book a Bangkok Holiday for January with my dear. Will be flying to Bangkok for Chinese New Year clothes shopping. Hmm, seems like I have lotsa travel plans this year. Really packed! Anyway, after booking for our holiday at SA Tours, we grabbed a quick bite around Chinatown before catching 30 Days Of Night at The Cathay. Was supposed to be french manicure But I didn't want the normal light pink and white. Opted for this purple-gold instead. Wanted to match my white tube dress for D&D But doesn't seem too compatible now that I look at it. Does it look weird huh?
![]() My manicure actually suits this dress! Sunday, November 18, 2007 Saturday, 17 November 2007 Was down with flu since Friday but braved it all to meet Ashley and the rest of the girls at Paisley & Cream Cafe @ The Central, the shopping centre above Clarke Quay Mrt Station. Brainstormed on gatecrash ideas for Ashley's wedding. Was really fun.
Sunday, November 11, 2007 Finally caught up on my sleep and woke up at 12 noon. Went Surf 'N' Turf (Suntec City) for late lunch about 3pm before catching Saw IV at 5.15pm.
Lunch Review Food serving at Surf 'N' Turf is big. For every main course ordered, top up $4.90 for a soup and a soft drink. I chose Clam Chowder Soup and it was not bad but the portion was huge. And when my steak came, it was humongous! I struggled to finish it, together with the fries. Roy helped too. Nonetheless, the beef is good. Better than Hog's Breath or Outback Steak. For $26.90, it's definitely worth a try. Sorry, no picture as I left my digicam at home. Roy had Baked Seafood Casserole and my dear boy, being quite a big-eater, could only finish slightly more than half of it. Surf 'N' Turf was pretty generous with the seafood but the soggy rice beneath the cheese was not so delectable after a few mouthfuls. Roy was just concentrating on finishing the seafood. Because we were both so full after the soup, main course and drink, we could not stomach any dessert. We would love to go back to try to steak again and this time round, the dessert. My recommendation will be to order the main course without topping upo the $4.90 for soup and drink, if you are very hungry. Alternatively, just order one main course with soup and drink to share. Surf 'N' Turf 3 Temeasek Boulevard Suntec City Mall #B1-40 Singapore 038983 Tel: 6338 8240 Movie Review I did not catch Saw, Saw II and Saw III so not much comment about Saw IV except that it was utterly gruesome. I was nudging Roy to leave the theatre during the first five minutes of the movie screening. Eeeks. Anyway, headed for Pan Pacific Hotel for Joel's wedding dinner, which started at 9pm. We were only at the third dish by 10pm. It was only after 10.10pm then the dishes were all rushed in. Am really happy for Joel. He was really beaming the whole night. Sunday Had wanted to sleep in longer but was woken up by Roy at 10am, who just passed me the Sunday Times to see what activities we can do today. There happened to be some review on Wanton Mee and I was just craving for it. After reading the papers, we both decided to check out the recommended Hong Fa Xing Cooked Food at Block 209, Hougang Street 21, #01-08. Upon reaching there, we found out that it is actually a hawker centre beside Kovan Plaza. There are lotsa stalls and all the food looked yummy. We finally located Hong Fa Xing and there was no queue. We were hesitant in trying but still did. Hmm, the noodles and wanton are nice. Worth a try. After that, we walked around Kovan Plaza before going to Ang Mo Kio Hub to watch Doraemon. Good plot and nice anime. I am no kid but I love this movie! :) ![]() After movie, as agreed earlier, we went back to my house to prepare and then went swimming at 5pm. I swam 20 laps. Fruitful ya? Well, unfortunately, I have a sumptuous dinner too. Had Chilli Crabs! Yummy! Do not even dare to weigh now. Haha. Err, will start watching my weight tomorrow! :) Tuesday, September 11, 2007 Sunday, 9 September 2007 Woke up at 12pm before rushing off to meet Francis and Roy for lunch at the newly-opened Suki Sushi at KBox Plaza. Just dyed my hair this dark red shade on Saturday! Absolutely adore this nail polish colour.
You will enjoy this movie if you like action-packed films. Surprised at the twist. Pretty good plot. Way much better than Rush Hour 3. Sunday, July 29, 2007 Saturday, 28 July 2007 Met Valerie, her boyfriend, Qiumei, her boyfriend and Meiqing for lunch today at Ang Mo Kio Hub, at New York New York. To celebrate Meiqing's belated birthday. Caught up a bit and soon left our separate ways. Was supposed to meet Roy at 2.30pm for movie but when I called him at 2.15pm, he was already at AMK Hub. Anyway, he looked me up just outside Nail Palace. Was telling him to give me 15 minutes to do my Express Manicure and he was all nice about it. He went to shop around on his own while I did my manicure. Well, the manicurist Sandy was not bad. It was my first time at Nail Palace and soon, I was swayed to take up their package. Actually, I still have existing package at Flaunt! but because the manicurist was quite convincing and I kinda liked the service, I took up the 10+2 sessions package. Cost me a whooping $600. Don't think I dare to see my credit card bill next month! *FAINT* By the time, I was done at Nail Palace, it was 3.30pm and Roy was just outside gesturing to me that our movie was about to start. We soon headed for our movie. It was a thai horror movie titled Alone.
Exercise: Labels: Movie Monday, July 23, 2007 Sunday, 22 July 2007 Met Roy today to catch Die Hard 4 at Marina Square. Poor dude already watched it but was telling me that he did not mind watching again with me as it is a great show. Undeniably, this movie is a blast. Absolutely love the action! Movie ended about 3pm and we were both famished. Roy recommended Azabu Sabo and it was a great choice. Roy ordered some seafood fried rice with egg, like the seafood version of Oyakdon. I ordered Japanese Beef Curry rice with Pork Cutlet. The food portioning was kinda huge. We were both so full but because Azabu Sabo is quite reknown for their Hokkaido ice-cream, we decided to order a portion to share. Very nice! Very colourful dessert. The Green Tea ice-cream is yummy. A little pricey though.
Wednesday, May 23, 2007 It was a slow day at work except that my boss commented something about my working ability that I was insulted and hurt. Sometimes, I wonder if my boss means what he says as I have seen quite a few occasions where he just spoke without much thought, in casual conversations of course. On a happier note, I met Alex for movie after work. Went to Gelare for waffle ice cream before catching french film Priceless (Hors de Prix) which stars the lovely Audrey Tautou. ![]() This romantic comedy is certainly worth watching and I thoroughly enjoy it. Even for guys who are not into romantic comedy, Audrey is such an eye candy that you have every reason to catch it. Oh yah, got to thank Alex for his great company too! :) Labels: Movie Monday, March 05, 2007 Been very busy last few days. Tried Latin Samba for the first time on Thursday and boy, was it tough. Really need to practise. Came home for some retail therapy on Victorias Secret and fell in love with a sexy piece! Hosted 3 Chinese New Year tables on Friday then headed for St James Power House with Charmaine after the dinner ended. There wasa long queue and it was half an hour before we finally got into Power House. I was digging for Cuban music at Movida but thought Power House queue seemed shorter. Anyway, we finally got in after 30 minutes and for the first time in ages, I actually danced non-stop (almost) for 2.5 hours! Good workout I must say. My mini dress was soaked in perspiration when I left Power House. However, it didn't help that I was supposed to chair a briefing session on Saturday at 9.30am. So, I slept at 5.30am after partying and woke up at 7.30am to prepare to head out for briefing. I was freaking tired and I am so sure I looked like a panda. Well, thank god the briefing was short and I met Mummy for breakfast after that. Shopped a little and bought another 2 dresses! Yes, I know I am crazy, over dresses! :( After my mini shopping stint, I rushed home to get ready for Meiqing's ROM solemisation ceremony at Merchant Court Hotel. She was so pretty that day. I took some pictures but because my card reader spoilt, I could not upload pictures to my PC. Got to wait.... ARGH! After the ROM cum High Tea, headed for Annie's little princess Ashley's One Year Old birthday. Very cute baby! Am glad to be able to catch up with Annie a little too. Been so long since I met her. And I was dead tired by the time I got home at 8pm! Sunday was fruitful meeting Val for lunch before heading for Tango class. Francis refreshed a bit of Latin Cha Cha with me after Tango. Afterall, I missed 2 Latin Cha Cha lessons cos of two Fridays' Chinese New Year functions. So sweet of him huh? :) Anyway, Kenneth picked me up after Tango to go for ex-colleague's Edward's Chinese New Year gathering at Seng Kang. It was pouring and we were stuck there till evening before we decided to catch DreamGirls at Cineleisure. The movie is great, especially with Oscar's Award 2007 winner Jennifer Hudson who starred as Effie White. I love musicals and DreamGirls is certainly a movie worth catching. It's been a long time since I rave about any movie and since I am doing so now, you can be assured it's a not-to-be-missed flick! Well, that sums up what I have done last few days and it's work as per normal today. Had a throbbing headache today and went to see a doctor. Will be on Medical Leave tomorrow but I brought my laptop home so reckon I I may work from home tomorrow. Will see how. Hope I feel better soon and since I bought so many dresses, hope I have occasions to wear them... like real soon! Sunday, November 05, 2006 It's Sunday night again. Weekends really fly man! Malay Language class yesterday was fruitful. Learning more words now and of course, getting tougher too. The teacher was just telling us to memorise those dialogues he had given us on our notes and he would test us the next lesson. *GROAN* Nothing much after Malay class except to run some errands and to settle my credit card bills. ARGH... I have never been more broke than now. Totally overspent last month and this month's gonna suffer! *SULK* Sundays are usually enjoyable. Today is no exception. Waltz is great with more swing this lesson. More powerful and also got to watch our postures properly. Phyllis' boyfriend watched us and he was quite keen. Hence, he will be joining us the next lesson. So next Waltz lesson will have 3 guys and 2 girls. Now, that's a headache. Hopefully can get another girl to join but I did ask Francis to check with his girlfriend but he replied that his girl is not interested. But WHY? Waltz is so fun and how can she be not interested? *SOBZ* Really hope that she can join us! Had lunch after Waltz and headed to VivoCity for a movie. Caught The Covenant and Laura Remsey looked so sweet. She matched Steven Strait totally. Sizzling hot couple... Now I'm drooling! Anyway, had about an hour and a half to kill before the movie so checked out the White Dog Cafe. Pretty nice ambience and we sat by the glass panel overlooking the sea. Though cosy, I was slightly annoyed when he refused to help me take a picture. Must be because I am fat and he didn't want to ruin the nice picture! See my AGONISED look?
Sunday, October 15, 2006 ![]() Yeah, I went crazy shopping this weekend. Was with Francis in Orchard yesterday. Shopped and caught The Departed before heading for dinner and finally home. Francis was nice enough to accompany me get my sling heels for this coming Friday's ballroom dance class. Finally got a nice pair of black sling heels from Ngee Ann City's U.R.S. boutique. Affordable with a 20% discount. Did not exceed my budgeted $50. Yipee! But err, I forgot to mention that this was my second pair of heels. Prior to U.R.S., I got a pair of beige slip-on heels in Takashimaya. Brand is CYN and I love the thai silk they use on the heels straps. Unfortunately, good quality comes with a price and that elegant pair of slip-ons is still quite pricey after the 10% discount. I got them anyway and am a happy girl, even till today. No "impulse-purchases-regret" syndromes. Oh well, at least not yet. The Departed was quite alright though the ending can be better. And I find Leonard DiCaprio damn fat in this movie. Perhaps he has always been fat but really, he is especially so in this movie. As usual, Matt Damon looks cute but too bad he played a baddie role in this production. Nonetheless, I still adore him. Movie is similar to chinese movie 无间道 with a more abrupt ending. Overall, still nice. Plot aside, DiCaprio and Damon actings improved and Jack Nicholson portraited himself so well as the execrable mob boss Frank Costello. Watchable movie I must say. Right, that was yesterday. Today was pretty nice too. Went for my regular hair and scalp treatment. Hmm, perhaps not too regular lately. Have not gone for treatment for a month. Been a little tied up lately. Anyway, went today and spent 2 hours chatting with my stylist, Tom, while he salvaged my hair and scalp to a healthy level. Anyway, Tom was mentioning that the salon will be importing in a new digital perm machine but is from Japan. He knows that I never like digital perm cos of the super dry and frizzy hair after that. But he reassured me that this machine is from Japan and using Japan technology so will be better. Well, I may wanna perm my hair again next month so I will consider. He said he would call me when the equipment arrives in 1-2 months time. We shall see. Oh yeah, I left the salon satisfied, with healthy and bouncy hair! Next, I headed for Northpoint. Shopping again, while waiting for Mummy to meet me for dinner. Amazingly, I was at Ella boutique for 1.5 hour and I practically tried all the dresses in the shop! Err, no prize for guessing right, but yes, you got it, I bought dresses from there. 3 in fact! Haha! One was a cute beige short dress. With flouncy sleeves. Really cute. I look like a little angel in it. Another was a black halter neck dress. Simple yet elegant. Hugs the body well and showing the curves. Nice! The last piece is a green dress of very flowy material. Simple, comfortable and girlie. Love them! Then it was time to meet Mummy for dinner. We had a simple dinner at a nearby coffeeshop before heading home. But not before I stopped by an optical shop and purchases a pair of cat-like orange shades. Look really cool ya! Oh, what can I say.....
Monday, July 31, 2006 It is a bluey Monday today. Woke up several times in the middle of the night and ran for the loo. Was having diarrhoea. Really wanted to go to work today but kept running for the loo. ARGH! Anyway, went to the doctor and got some medication. Hopefully this whole diarrhoea episode will stop else my legs will surely be wobbly from the running. Though it's not a good Monday, I had a nice weekend. Went for Wine Tasting at BLooiE's Roadhouse Bar & Grill located at Science Park II on Saturday. We got to sample wines from France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Australia. I particularly like the red Shiraz Vale. Medium and smooth. Dessert wine Riesling was nice as usual. The sparkling Rosè was especially refreshing and not too dry. Ther than the free flow of wine, there was also finger food such as the cripsy Nachos, barbecued Drumlets, Salad, Samosa etc. All in all, it was a pleasant evening and I really enjoyed myself. Sunday was not too bad either as I went to collect all the photographs from my graduation. Yes, I know it was ages ago since I took the pictures but the photos need to be framed and I had no time to go collect till yesterday. Anyway, finally got the pictures with frames before heading to catch The Lake House.
Tuesday, February 07, 2006 When we were young...
However, as we grow older, journeying from primary school to secondary school and then obtaining a tertiary education, Mummy and Daddy forgot. Forgot to encourage us, to praise us or to even reward us.
All parents love their kids and like I said, they probably forgot how to praise, teach and reward appropriately as their beloved children grow older. And now, perhaps kids all just wanna be babies. Yes, we know you meant well but Mummy and Daddy, it will feel so wonderful if you can tell me that I am a good girl/boy today. As with any other day. And with your soothing words, I am sure I will keep trying hard and to strive further. Labels: Movie Saturday, October 08, 2005 ![]() From Katarina Stratford to Patrick Verona in the movie ' 10 Things I Hate About You ', directed by Gil Junger.
