It was Jon's birthday on 23rd July but he was in Fuzhou then.
Anyway, we met up at Himawari Japanese Restaurant at Neil Road for dinner today. Last year, we had Korean food so when he suggested either Korean or Japanese, I was definitely more for the latter.
Did not bring my digital camera so sorry, no food pictures.
Ambience was average. Warm, friendly staff and seemed very much like a family-run restaurant. Was surprised that Himawari was having Ala-Carte Buffet so we could order anything from the menu.
The Shabu-Shabu and Fresh Sashimi are really good. Jon was raving about the cold soba though I did not try. For myself, I kinda like the Gindara Teriyaki. YUMMY!
Hmm, it was a great meal and to my surprise, reasonably priced. Happy Belated Birthday to you, Jon!
