Santa Claus visits Singapore this year with a really big announcement. That is, an increase in Goods & Services Tax (GST).
With a GST hike from 5% to 7% to be announced in February 2007, our dear Prime Minister when interviewed earlier, said that this was only a start. With those startling words, we all know he means that we should expect to see another round of increase soon. It takes no genius to guess that the eventual comfortable GST is probably 10%.
Oh well, welcome to Singapore and to our dear government, thank you for this wonderful Christmas present amidst most of us voting for you in the recent election.
