Finally 15 December 2005, my last day at The Safe Store. Formerly Safe Superstore and with a new retail branding of BiG by Safe now at HarbourFront Centre Level 3, my 15-month stint here sure leaves me with lotsa memories. The joy, tears, frustration, fun and laughter shared will always be etched in my heart.

Unfortunately, handing over was a rush as the new girl who was supposed to take over me decided to quit. Probably too tough as she is very young. I must say I was indeed surprised that HR actually employed a 19 year-old girl to take over my duties. No offence but she is definitely not matured enough to handle sales or business development at corporate level. Heard that she was hired the day I tendered my resignation though she was supposed to be interviewed for a retail position. Perhaps HR is desperate for someone to take over me but this is real unprofessionalism and inexperience to just hire anyone. Oh well, welcome to HR of BiG by Safe!

Anyway, I was literally scurrying around to settle things and to hand over properly. The last thing I want is for people in this company to lay blame and complain that I have not handed over my work well. Even if I wanna leave, I wanna leave with a clean and good reputation. As usual, my dear colleagues were so sweet and treated me to lunch at Orange Lantern Vietnamese Restaurant. Love the Imperial Roll and Avocado Juice there. Yummy! Took lotsa pictures and will be sharing more soon.

Clearing my desk was not too much of a hassle as I had done most of the clearance on Tuesday when Willy came and picked me up. HR requested for me to hand over my Staff Pass and Medical Card which I obliged. But not before I took a snap of the pass that I have been holding on all these months.

Will certainly miss having an LCD monitor at work!

There was a tinge of sadness when I stepped out of the familiar pantry and out of office. Afterall, there has been so much battle here and I have learnt so much, namely how to protect myself and also to ignore office politics. What I will miss most will be some colleagues here. They are the ones who make a difference though some management's decisions do disappoint me at time. Thanks so much for the memories dearest colleagues.
