Wednesday, January 03, 2007 Today is the first day back to work in the year of 2007. Surprisingly, I do look forward to today as I have been slacking at home over the weekend and New Year holidays. I had just wanted to be alone but also, my skin was having rashes again so I didn't want to go out. Anyway, didn't have a chance to see a doctor regarding my rashes today. Will probably do so tomorrow. Was out on visitation and got held back, hence only ended up in office about 11.30am. Marketing team supposed to have a meeting at 11am but because of me, we had to do a lunch meeting. As I was about to head out for lunch, caught the same lift as boss. He asked me what my new year resolution was. Without hesitation, I answered it was to lose weight. He then glanced at me, up and down, then commented that I was not fat. Oh please, I am sure he was just being nice. I am fat and the whole world knows it. Ok, so fat is too strong a word, and no, I am not fat, but yes, I am round! Lunch was pretty nice at this japanese book restaurant. The chicken cutlet in beef curry rice is superb and I am usually not a fan of japanese curry. Charmaine mentioned going to Japan in April and asked if I wanna go. I told her I am broke and she said to start saving every month now and would be sufficient. I just stared at her incredulously and replied flatly that I just bought a new dress costing me $120. She almost wanted to kill me. I was so sure. She just screamed, "I can't believe you!" Then James went, "Of everyone, I didn't expect you to be the one to comment on Jane's spending habits. You think you save a lot meh?" All of us burst out laughing. I like my colleagues. They are nice and fun to be with. We crap lotsa too. Hope our current newly-appointed scheme manager is ok with that and of course, our new marketing manager who is coming in mid January, will be too. Keeping my fingers crossed! January is going to be a very hectic month. I have 2 review presentations end of this month and both involve senior management parties of my accounts. Boss did ask both underwriters to help me but I do know that I have to teach them lotsa and end up doing most work. Not that I mind teaching them but I dread the thought of having to go through that familiar stress again. Only that this time round, it's double the stess since it's 2 presentations in a span of a few days. Yes, I know you can hear me groaning already. ARGH! On a happier note, after January's stress, I am heading for Bangkok from 3rd - 6th February, with Charmaine and 2 other colleagues, Sok Hui and Mei Yin. Yipeee! I love Bangkok. Now I can shop and party again once more. The last time I went Bangkok was in July and was with Mummy. And you know, mothers being mothers, Mummy does not allow me to go out clubbing alone at night. Bleah! What a wet blanket. Now, with my colleagues, we gonna paint the town red! WooOHooOOO~ Now, gonna try to keep to one of my 2007 resolutions to sleep before 1am. Good night! Labels: Work |
