Got back from Bangkok last night. Was a relaxing trip and I managed to shop quite a fair bit. Mummy and I shopped at our own pace, hence it was still not too hectic. Actually the main aim of going back to Bangkok was to go pray.

Last November when I was in Bangkok, I had gone to the Four-Faced Buddha and prayed for a job change by 2005 and indeed, I switched job in December. As such, I went back to pray this year again as promised. Of course, I took the opportunity to shop and relax too.

As mentioned, I had felt physically drained at work and this trip had certainly rejuvenated me lotsa. I feel more cheery and most importantly, more energetic to fight the battles at work. Bought some stuff for my colleagues and all geared for work tomorrow.

August is a challenging month. Afterall, my most major account is having a Quarterly Review in mid August and there is a lot to prepare. The thought of going through every single report and coming up with the presentation slides for the review is not exactly enticing. Oh well, this is my second time doing it so I am sure everything will be smoother. Keeping my fingers crossed!

14 hours more before I get on the plane to Bangkok. Charmaine asked me over supper earlier if I felt excited and honestly, I had no feeling about it. No tinge of excitement. Just very preoccupied and I was so relieved to send out some relevant emails today since I will be on leave next week.

Had a meeting with a potential partner this morning and rushed back to office to clear some backlog. I really dread everything piling up by the time I get back from my leave. Got a few reports done, settled some outstanding issues and emailed to inform partners of my absence before proceeding to BarCelona WineBar for the event.

This year Awards Nite was quite a success and everyone seemed pretty relaxed with the cosy ambience and of course free flow of beer, housepour and wine. The bosses were happy and we were all so relieved. This is especially so for Charmaine!

Anyway, Charmaine shared a piece of good news with me earlier. She got her promotion and I was full of congratulations for her although she was grumbling a little that the pay increment is totally not up to her expectation. She got to know of her promotion yesterday and was given the Salary Review letter. My other colleagues got the Salary Review letters too, except me. I was around yesterday when my boss gave out the letters to the department but I did not get mine. Perhaps my salary did not get reviewed though I got my confirmation last month.

I was very disappointed though Charmaine consoled me that the letter might just have been delayed. I am really not sure. We shall see after I get back from my Bangkok trip when I come back to office. Not too hopeful though. Sigh. What a nasty disappointment it is before heading for my holiday! :(

I permed my hair again 2 weeks ago, after 4 months. It was still Japanese Perm but instead of spiralling down, Tom tried another formula.

Anyway, I went to perm again on 15 July and did treatment of course. Was practically nagging at Tom throughout for the non-curly hair after the previous week's perm. Yes, my hair looked naturally wavy but I knew for sure it would not last another week. And so, Tom patiently permed for me once more. Thank God I always do Japanese Perm and is not damaging for my hair!

Conclusion:

I still prefer the last perm Tom did for me 4 months ago where my hair spiralled down with bigger curls at the ends. At least the mid of my hair did not look too volumised then. My cheeks or face look MUCH broader and fatter now. *SOBZ*

I was reading the newspapers earlier when Mummy kept staring at me. I gave her a quizzical look and she asked, "Girl, when are you going to lose some weight?"

Apparently, it is pretty obvious that I have grown chubbier of late. 4kg is hell of a lot and I really loathe my bulging tummy now. Well, there is really only 2 ways to lose weight. It is either diet or exercise and I must say I will not go for the former. I love food too much. And it doesn't help that I have been really lazy the last 2 months. I mean, I can't even be bothered to go swimming. Now I know why all the fats are bulging out. ARGH!

Next week will be busy and I doubt I will be able to finish work by 8pm to go for a swim. May party on Wednesday and I am really looking forward to dancing for 3 hours non-stop, that is, if I am not too breathless! I was so disgusted with myself a few days ago when I crossed the overhead bridge to Chin Swee for lunch. After climbing the 2 flights of stairs, I was actually breathless and had to catch my breathe before continuing conversation with my colleague. I was totally appalled. I mean, I am merely a quarter century old and it's not like I am 1 foot to my grave!

Since I will be heading for Bangkok next Saturday, I sorta promise Mummy that I will start losing some weight after Bangkok, which means to say I must start swimming and dancing after my Bangkok trip. Discipline is the word and I sure hope I can abide to it. Afterall, I am not too proud of my shape. And did I mention that round is a shape?

I was rushing through my work today so that I could knock off early to accompany Mummy. Mummy is down with fever and has no appetite. Got her some porridge for dinner and she ate very little. I do feel kinda concerned as her health seems to be deteriorating of late.

She was complaining about 2 weeks ago that she felt a pain on her arm and it had persisted till today. After much persuasion by me, she did go for an X-Ray last week and was supposed to get her X-Ray results today but unfortunately, she was down with fever and could not go out. Also, her glucose level has been a little unstable and she feels tired easily.

My brother is now working regular hours so at least I can ask him to be around if I have to work late. Really hope that Mummy gets better soon. I don't even feel like going out or staying back late at work knowing that Mummy is unwell at home. Guess I will come back early tomorrow again and buy her some soup for dinner.

Prays hard Mummy gets back her good health soon.

Just got back not long ago from celebrating Zijun's birthday. Did not join her go party at Zouk though as I feel my nose running. Yanling, Cheryl, Zijun and me had lotsa fun catching up!
